GETTING

TO

CAREYES

Careyes is a tucked-away stretch of leisure on Mexico’s Pacific coast, a distinctly comfortable submersion into nature. Pastel villas are perched along jungle cliffs, flowers spill over stone walkways, and there’s the distinct feeling of a private playground made just for beach strolls, sunset cocktails and long, late dinners.

Conceived in the ‘60s by a jet-setting Italian who flew over and thought, “Yes, this needs more bougainvillea,” Careyes somehow feels both effortlessly luxurious and happily off grid (but not too off grid – Wi-Fi is reliable, and we’ll have a Starlink hotspot for anyone who needs to stay connected). Getting here takes a bit of planning (more on that below), but once you arrive, you’ll see it’s worth it. Stunning views, creative architecture, and sheltered beaches make this little hideaway a beautiful blend of Mediterranean elegance and Mexican vibrancy.

We recommend arriving in Careyes by Thursday, November 13 by 4:00 PM. That gives you time to drop your bags before the sunset at our welcome dinner. Of course, if you’ll be joining us for the warm up activities planned earlier in the week, come in earlier!

There will not be any official activities on Sunday, but we will find somewhere to post up/brunch for those who aren’t rushing home.

FLYING IN

Now’s a great time to start looking at flights for mid-November travel. You can fly into Puerto Vallarta or Manzanillo.

  • Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR): More daily flights and international connections, but a longer ground transfer – about 2.5 to 3 hours.

  • Manzanillo International Airport (ZLO): Smaller airport with fewer direct flights, but a shorter drive – about 1.5 hours.

ON THE GROUND

You have a few options to get from the airport to Careyes.

  • Take a private transfer. We recommend you book through Nacho Tours at Nacho Tours at +523151135407 (WhatsApp is best). On the FAQ page, you’ll find their quoted rates.

  • Join a group shuttle. For those who would like to organize a group shuttle with Nacho Tours, add your information to the spreadsheet here. If you’re looking to join a carpool, add yourself to the seeking transport list. If you’d like to find more people to join your carpool, add your info to the have transport list.

  • Rent a car and drive in. Rental Cars are available at both PVR and ZLO. We recommend booking in advance, especially if you prefer an automatic. Roads are safe, scenic and generally well maintained, though winding in places. If you’d like to offer other attendees a ride, please add your information to the the spreadsheet here.

  • Take a private charter flight from PVR or ZLO to nearby Chamela landing strip. This flight is approx 20 minutes.

While it can be handy to have a car in Careyes in general, we will be supplying shuttles to and from all wedding related events throughout the week, so you will not need one unless you’d like more freedom to explore on your own terms. Most of our accommodations are within a short walking distance to each other and on the beach. The exception here is if we have spoken to you directly about the benefit of having a car for your specific accommodations.

WEATHER

Historically, the average temp in mid November has been a high of 83 °F / 29 °C and a low of 75 °F / 24 °C. November marks the tail end of the rainy season, so while there is only a 10% chance of rain, we’ll benefit from the full greenery and flowers that the rainy season brings. You can expect moderate humidity (73% on average). Afternoons will be hot, and nights will be warm.
