FAQs

TRAVEL & TIMING

When should I book my flights?

Now’s perfect. November is high-season on Mexico’s west coast and fares will creep up soon. See our Getting There page for airport options (ZLO & PVR).

What dates should I block off?

The warm up kicks off the evening of Tuesday, November 11. If you can spare extra beach days, we recommend arriving Tuesday and departing Sunday. Many guests are doing exactly that. Core celebrations start on the evening of Thursday, November 13 and run until late night Saturday, November 15.

We recommend arriving in Careyes by Thursday, November 13 by 4:00 PM. That gives you time to drop your bags before the sunset at our welcome dinner. Of course, if you’ll be joining us for the warm up activities planned earlier in the week, come in earlier!

There will not be any official activities on Sunday, but we will find somewhere to post up/brunch for those who aren’t rushing home.

Do I need a visa?

US, Canadian, UK & EU passport-holders receive a 180-day tourist card on arrival - no advance visa. Your passport must be valid ≥ 6 months past travel dates. For official, up-to-date requirements, please consult your government’s travel advisory website.

How do I get from the airport to Careyes?

You have a few options to get from the airport to Careyes. See our Getting There page.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Should I book a hotel or AirBnB myself?

Please hold off. We’ve already bought out the key villas, casitas, bungalows and suites so everyone can stay close together and enjoy the lowest rates. Share your desires in the RSVP form and our housing team will match you and send next-steps. More detail on this can be found in the Accommodations page.

What kind of “space sharing” are we talking about here?

Any reference to shared accommodations is in relation to multi-bedroom properties. You will not be asked to share a bed or bedroom with someone unless you are in a couple or have expressed desire to share a bed/bedroom with someone specific. If you are traveling solo and wish to be paired with a roommate, we will make sure any pairings are approved by all parties.

Can I request specific villa-mates?

Absolutely! Pop your preferences in the RSVP notes and we’ll do our best.

How do I book my accommodations?

After we play accommodations matchmaker, we’ll reach out directly via email with your accommodations info and a direct link to reserve.

GUESTS & KIDS

Who else is invited?

This weekend is all about our chosen family (aw), bringing together friends from the chapters of our lives. We’re celebrating with our families at a separate gathering. Once RSVPs roll in, we’ll share a ‘Who’s Coming’ list so you can see which familiar faces and future friends will be there.

Can we bring children?

While we adore your little beachcombers, the core celebrations on Friday and Saturday are designed as adults-only gatherings. If you’re traveling as a family, we can help you line up trusted local childcare for both day and night coverage. Note your interest in the RSVP and we’ll connect you.

Kids are welcome to join in the warm up and at Thursday night’s welcome dinner.

We gently encourage grown-up time so everyone (you, specifically) can relax and dance past bedtime. Thanks for understanding, and let us know how we can make the logistics easy.

Exceptions to this are lap infants who require mom’s milk to survive. Reach out to Carla and Peter and we’ll discuss how to make sure baby and parents are all having a good time.

VIBES

What do I wear?

Now you’re asking the heavy hitting questions. On our schedule page, find notes on recommended outfits and dress code. Recommended wear for ticketed events can be found on the ticket pages.

Events will be held in spaces that flow from sand to wooden platforms. We recommend embracing comfort in flats and sandals. If heels are a must, stick to low block heels or wedges with ankle support.

ESSENTIALS

Wi-Fi & cell: most accommodations have good wifi; roaming on Telcel/AT&T works fine. We’ll have a couple Starlinks as well.

Health: Nearest full clinic is 15 min away in Chamela. Travel insurance is always a smart idea.

Packing tips: Sunscreen, mosquito repellent, reusable water bottle, comfortable shoes, and an appetite for tacos.

Money: All the establishments in Careyes accept credit cards, however, it’s highly advisable to carry cash for convenience, as yoga classes, massages, or taxis do not accept credit cards. There is only one ATM, located at Plaza de los Caballeros del Sol.

GIFTS

What about gifts?

Time to pull up the beloved maxim: your presence is your present. We are deeply grateful for the time, energy and cost you’re putting in to celebrate with us. If you’d still like the opportunity to share a contribution, you can view our registry here.
